Petite and feather-light feeling, this late Victorian pin is delicate looking as well. The 10k yellow gold setting undulates with a curvy and feminine silhouette, accentuated by the soft pink sparkle of a singular stone flanked by two creamy seed pearls. Created to add a soft and subtle touch of embellishment this antique piece still retains its classic intentions. This piece is fresh looking and must have been tucked away and well. Taken care of, the signs of wear are noticeable only on very close inspection. The gold setting has a bright patina with very little surface wear and no dents or irregularities. The paste stone is intact without any chips and little surface wear and the pearls are original. There are no irregularities to the setting or signs of solder or repair and the piece has a firm shape. Mark 10k on pinback. Weight 1.5 grams. Material 10k gold, glass and natural pearls. Very pretty and stylish Edwardian 9ct gold bar brooch. Elegant in its simplicity, it features a plain gold bar with a stunning pink faceted, collet-set gem; possibly a tourmaline or a pink sapphire centred in the middle and flanked on either side by a natural seed pearl set in a foliate shape. The brooch comes with an integral gold safety chain which would indicate the gem is a precious stone rather than paste. Certainly, it is a beautiful deep pink which really sparkles when the light catches it. There are no hallmarks which is not unusual for a piece this age, but it is stamped 9ct on the fastening clap.
