Very pretty and stylish Edwardian 9ct gold bar brooch. Elegant in its simplicity, it features a plain gold bar with a stunning pink faceted, collet-set gem; possibly a tourmaline or a pink sapphire centred in the middle and flanked on either side by a natural seed pearl set in a foliate shape. The brooch comes with an integral gold safety chain which would indicate the gem is a precious stone rather than paste. Certainly, it is a beautiful deep pink which really sparkles when the light catches it. There are no hallmarks which is not unusual for a piece this age, but it is stamped 9ct on the fastening clap.
