This antique 14K yellow gold (tested) bar or scarf pin has an Etruscan design ball on each end. In the center, between two rows of filigree, are nine turquoise. The middle one is the largest and the other turquoise descend in size until they become tiny dots at the ends. The pin meaures 2 1/8 inches by 5/16 and weighs 4.5 grams. The stick and the clasp have been replaced a long time ago, by someone who did not know that the stick should match the brooch and be gold and the clasp should be the antique type. The bar pin features a horseshoe turned up This is regarded as lucky since. Some brooches turn it down where the luck is deemed to run out. It is set with natural white seed pearls. The bar itself has a a lovely twisted link. Design with a Ball feature at each end. The brooch has the original C clasp. It is unmarked but tested on the bar and horseshoe as solid 15ct gold. The pin clasp is not gold which typical of brooches in this style since gold is not strong. Enough to bear the constant pinning particularly on the heavier fabrics of the day.
