The elongated, oval shaped bar pin has grooves through it that form a starburst. Set within the starburst is a gold star that is stretched out length-wise to fit the curved onyx base. Bezel set seed pearls in several sizes decorate the center of the gold star. The pin is a little loose but stays in the C clasp securely. It is not hallmarked, but acid test positive for 10 karat gold. CONDITION: Very good for its age. No chips or cracks to the onyx. All of the seed pearls are intact and look original, with slight nacre wear. Minor tarnish to the 10k gold. CIRCA: Mid Victorian era. MEASUREMENTS: a little over 1 3/4 inches long and a little over 1/2 an inch at its widest; weighs 6 grams.
