This is an antique heavy 15ct gold framed brooch, which is stamped 15ct to the rear. It is picked out in crystals of amethyst, peridot and white seed pearls. This brooch dates from around 1890. The brooch has a safety chain attached and a gold clasp. The brooch is set in the rarer G ive W omen the V ote crystal setting. The brooch is a superb quality jewel and is a classic period design, which really adds interest. This type brooch is exceptionally rare todays market and were not available commercially in period, so many would have been adapted from period brooches by jobbing jewellers, resulting in some unusual designs and a large range of styles. This brooch is from an earlier period and would have been up to 10 years old when adapted and is of good quality, so a rare survivor? The glass stones featured are Peridot for Green, Amethyst for Violet, clear crystal for White, supposedly symbolizing the Suffragette movements mantra, Give Women the Vote? These colours were first adopted in C1900 and the colours represent G reen for Hope, W hite for purity and V iolet for dignity. Is a superb quality 15ct gold brooch which features a lovely. It is set with. Sparkling peridot amethyst & clear seed pearls. The overall affect is one of great charm. The brooch has a simple bar clasp to the rear which is in good order and is the original gold item. The brooch is stamped 15ct to the rear. The brooch measures 2.0” in length and is 1.0” wide. It has an original safety chain attached with a replacement clasp. The brooch has outstanding period patina and has been well loved in the past. Is a really charming retailers presentation box in lovely burgundy leatherette. It has a cream velvet and satin interior and a good hidden clasp. It is in excellent condition 1. And only shows minor age related wear. It has a fantastic patina. This item is in vintage condition 1. There is no damage to any of the components apart from surface scratching to the larger glass crystals and some age related delamination to the metal work including minor marking to the metal, which does not detract from the items charm or wear ability.
