Very pretty and stylish Edwardian 9ct gold bar brooch. Elegant in its simplicity, it features a plain gold bar with a stunning pink faceted, collet-set gem; possibly a tourmaline or a pink sapphire centred in the middle and flanked on either side by a natural seed pearl set in a foliate shape. The brooch comes with an integral gold safety chain which would indicate the gem is a precious stone rather than paste. Certainly, it is a beautiful deep pink which really sparkles when the light catches it. There are no hallmarks which is not unusual for a piece this age, but it is stamped 9ct on the fastening clap. Gem 1.1cms x 0.8cms. As wearable now as it was when crafted around 120 years ago! Sorry antique box is for display only and is NOT for sale. An antique Edwardian period 15 Carat yellow gold bar brooch set with 3 faceted aquamarine stones and 4 seed pearls. The brooch has a length of 2.3 ins (38 mm) and weighs 3.5 g. It has a secure straight pin fastening with original safety chain and is stamped’15’ to reverse. The brooch and fastening are in good condition with an extremely tiny chip to one of the aquamarines which is only visible under a loupe and does not detract.
