Description: – A cased Art Deco period (c1920) platinum & gold 17 stone diamond bar brooch. The bar brooch is set with 17 diamonds with good clarity and sparkle totalling approximately 1.72cts. As was common for the period, the brooch is unhallmarked, and has been tested and confirmed to be platinum to the bar section and 9 carat gold minimum fineness to the pin. Period: – Early 20th Century. Date: – Circa 1920. Measurement: – The brooch measure 53mm (length) x 3.8mm (height) x 8.5mm (depth). The central diamond and the single diamond to each end measure approximately 3.8mm in diameter. The further 7 diamonds either side of the central diamond each measures 2.8mm. Weight: – 5.0 grams / 0.16 troy ounces. Item No: – 1304. Condition: – The brooch is in good condition. It doesn’t get anymore Art Deco then this gorgeous early Art Deco brooch featuring old european cut and rose cut diamonds set in a stunning 14k white gold mounting. Diamonds: total diamond weight is approximately 2.50 carat by formula, in the center one old european cut diamond 0.58ct by formula 5.5×3.16mm estimated clarity SI/color I; two old mine cut diamonds 0.25ct each stone by formula 4mm, four old european and old mine cut diamonds 0.17ct by formula each stone 3.5mm, two old european cut diamonds 0.14ct by formula 3.25mm, numerous accent rose cut diamonds. Diamonds measured and graded while set subject to mounting limitations, all weights/grades are approximate. Total Weight: 9.5g. Metals: tested 14k gold, the tiny safety pin on chain is a later addition and is base metal. Markings: there appears to be a marking on the pin stem, however it has worn off with age and is illegible, brooch tested 14k gold.
