A TRULY CHARMING LATE EDWARDIAN PERIOD SUFFRAGETTE 9CT YELLOW GOLD BAR BROOCH C1910S. PRESENTATION BOX & 2.63 GRAMS. A CHARMING PERIOD BROOCH & VERY WEARABLE! Dressed in the classic Suffragette colors of white, peridot and amethyst and dates from c1910s. It is stamped 9ct and weighs 2.63 grams. It is presented in a lovely period box and will make the perfect gift. This type of pendant is exceptionally rare todays market and were not available commercially in period, so many would have been adapted from period jewels by jobbing jewellers, resulting in some unusual designs and a large range of styles. This pendant is from an earlier period and would have been up to 10 years old when adapted and is of good quality, so a rare survivor? The glass stones featured are Peridot for Green, Amethyst for Violet, clear crystal for White, supposedly symbolizing the Suffragette movements mantra, Give Women the Vote? These colours were first adopted in C1900 and the colours represent G reen for Hope, W hite for purity and V iolet for dignity. Is a good quality 9ct yellow gold item. It is set with. 1.0 in diameter. It has an outstanding period patina and has been well loved in the past. The box: is a lovely red leatherette item, with a cream pad and satin interior. It is in vintage condition 1 or 2 and shows foxing to the satin interior. This item is in vintage condition 1 /2. There is no damage to the brooch all of the crystals, are in very good order. There is some age related delamination to the metal work including minor marking to the metal, which does not detract from the items charm or wear ability. The condition of the box is above.
