The bar pin features a horseshoe turned up This is regarded as lucky since. Some brooches turn it down where the luck is deemed to run out. It is set with natural white seed pearls. The bar itself has a a lovely twisted link. Design with a Ball feature at each end. The brooch has the original C clasp. It is unmarked but tested on the bar and horseshoe as solid 15ct gold. The pin clasp is not gold which typical of brooches in this style since gold is not strong. Enough to bear the constant pinning particularly on the heavier fabrics of the day.
