In January, 2019 we started the slow but satisfying process of listing Eytan’s inventory on-line so that that he can semi-retire and focus more on custom designs. Please check back as we’re listing new items every week — all fine jewelry in a range of styles and all priced with an emphasis on fairness and realism! This pendant came to us as a lozenge-shaped bar pin in extremely poor condition. The pin hardware was toast, and one of the diamonds was missing. Eytan polished lustrous rosy life back into the gold, removed the pin hardware, added a loop in the back. While replacing the diamond, he realized the other two stones — a “ruby” and another “diamond” are both imitations or synhetics. He decided to leave the fakes in place because they’re nicely set and too small to get exercised about. The real diamond is a single point, single cut. The fakes have nice old cuts with tiny tables and tall crowns. The pendant is hollow and very lightweight. It’s embellished with a bit of cannetille-like gold thread forming loopy scrollwork on the pendant’s pitched and triangular side pieces. The stones are set on a neat little raised center platform. Marks : The back has full British hallmarks, as shown in the photos. There’s a maker’s mark — W. C or is it W. – but we don’t know to whom it belongs. Chain: Included with this pendant is a matching Italian rose gold cable chain with lobster closure from our much-loved chain supplier in Vermont, Downeast Trading; we like their cable chains because they’re made from round (not half-round) wire, so even a 1.3mm chain weighs a respectable 2.4 grams. Fully stamped including “14Kt” and “585” purity marks. Pendant Length : 43mm (1.7). Pendant Width : 16mm (0.63). Chain Thickness : 1.3mm. Pendant Weight : 2.2 grams of 9k rose gold. Presented here for sale is an antique & unusual, heavy duty, 9ct Rose Gold Double Albert Chain/T. Bar & Dog Clip. One ring on the fob chain is hallmarked 9/. Each ribbed long link has 9c on it’s flat end. This is not your usual Albert chain, with round bevelled links joined with longer, ribbed oval links. There is small fob chain which is plain round links. The dog clip has a stamp but is illegible. The non dog clip chain goes have an odd link, possibly as a repair. It is 14/35.5cm long from end to end and weighs 25g. I’m not sure how old it is but I’d date it late C19th/Early C20th. El franqueo en el extranjero NO es gratis/.
