This particular bar is made of 99.99% pure gold, commonly known as “four nines” fine, and weighs one troy ounce (31.1 grams). The obverse of the bar features the Engelhard logo along with the serial number, weight, and purity of the gold, “123259, ” “1 oz troy, ” and “999.9 fine, ” respectively. The reverse of the bar is blank. The vintage design of the bar, which is no longer in production, is highly sought after by collectors and investors.
