Very unusual and exceptional is this hand made 18k brooch measuring 2 1/4 at the widest and with the longest jellyfish with a 1 1/2 drop. It has a very tiny maker’s mark on the back which I cannot make out, but I was told it was French in origin. The brooch weights 7.5 grams, has a secure clasp and is in pristine condition. A REALLY CHARMING ART NOUVEAU PERIOD. 15CT YELLOW GOLD SWEET HEART FORGET ME NOT BAR BROOCH – C1890S. SUPER QUALITY ANTIQUE BROOCH & THE PERFECT GIFT FOR YOUR SWEET HEART! The brooch is styled in the sweet heart style and features forget me not floral detail. This item dates from c1890s. The brooch weighs 1.63 grams. The brooch is of hollow construction and has an ancient repair to the rear bar which has obscured the carat stamp, although the makers mark is still visible. The brooch has been tested as at least 15ct gold and is warranted as such. The bar clasp is white metal and is not gold. Measures 1.5 in overall length. It is 0.5 wide. It weighs 1.63 grams. This item is in antique condition 1/2. The metal work is sound, but the hollow construction means that it has been repaired to the rear in the past. This repair is stable and is not visible when worn. The setting is in good order and shows only minor age related wear to the rub points. Brooches center has a small 3.25mm rose cut diamond and 6 tiny accent diamond chips. Four tiny square cut sapphires flank each side of the brooch, and sapphire chips form a circular frame around the center diamond mount. Brooch has a functioning locking clasp that is unmarked but tests 18k & platinum face. Brooch has a total length of approximately 2″ and a width of 3/16″ (at widest point) with a total weight of 3.3 Grams. Metal content was checked using a Niton DXL Spectral XRF precious metal analyzer. Brooch is presented in very good overall condition, shows normal wear for age, please see magnified photos.
